Quoi Que Tu Dis
music video stereo 4:41 min Stephanie Müller and Klaus E. Dietl
Quoi Que Tu Dis was nominated for the MuVi award at the 70th edition of Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen in 2024 for the best German based music video production.
Quoi Que Tu Dis embarks on a search for a queer language of intimacy, its disappearance, and resurgence on both textual and visual levels. The story is located in Munich's subway system. Slack of space and expensive housing lead the protagonists to create their own havens amidst the cramped conditions. An abandoned subway kiosk is transformed into a vibrant space and organism. In semi-frozen times, the protagonists navigate between the underground and the surface, with nature as their companion. Proximity provides warmth. Proximity does not burn. "Whatever you say."
Quoi Que Tu Dis is the first song appearing on "As Long as Render Bars Go Colourful". The ongoing episodic album has been started by Alligator Gozaimasu, a fluid sonic body shaped by many different voices and noises. In 2015 the international collective was initiated by artists from Munich's (Germany) and Sapporo's (Japan) underground scene.
During an online music exchange in the first lockdown 2020, Alligator Gozaimasu grew to include numerous additional members from further countries such as Jordan, Indonesia, Senegal, the Ukraine, Russia and Turkey. Together the artists follow an intersectional approach by celebrating mood swings and listening closely to each other's different tempi and needs. Those who open up, who are ready to unlearn their own perception habits are welcome to join, no matter if they are amateurs or sound lovers with an academic background, no matter which age they are.
